What are the curent demographics of the neighborhood Northwood in Essay
What are the curent demographics of the neighborhood Northwood in Baltimore - Essay Example e essay is divided into different sections beginning with the demography of the area and later key characteristics of Northwood in comparison with the other 54 CSAs. Later in the essay, we will learn on the improvement of Northwood and the negative characteristics that need to be improved for the benefit of the Northwood occupants and the image of this area. Northwood holds a population of 16,643 of 620,961 of the entire Baltimore City population. It is among the top ten most populated areas and just as the other CSAs its population is composed of more females than males where about 56% of the population is female and 44% are male. Baltimore at large is composed of different races and this is similar to Northwood as the area is occupied by 88.6% African-American, 7.2% white, 0.6% Asians, 1.5% people of two or more races and 0.4% other races. The African-American ratio to its population is much higher than the entire population ratio of Baltimore, which is 63.8%. The whites occupying Northwood is below the ratio of whites in Baltimore by 21.1% showing that other CSAs have more whites than Northwood (Renner, Ayodeji and Starke, 27). Baltimore is known for its ethnicity and diversity and this is not different from Northwood as it has a race diversity index of 22.5 compared to 54.5 of the entire neighborhood. 44.3% of the entire Northwood population are people between the age of 25-64 years whereas the population has the fewest number of people between 0-5 years this is similar to the population composition of most CSAs thus it is true to note that majority of the population in Baltimore is within the age of 25-64 years. According to vital signs 12, most of the households in Baltimore are headed by women due to the high rate of divorces in the area. This is not different in Northwood as women head about 55.4% of the households, which is very close to the 54.9% in the entire neighborhood (Renner, Ayodeji and Starke, 29). About 63% of Northwood population is

Scots Law Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Scots Law - Essay Example When the company delegated a duty to Fergus, which was an expansion program, it did not examine that Fergus would have undergone various challenges. In addition, the company did not consider the potential benefits that would have come out of each customer. According to the tenements act 2004, the company should always have the capacity to cater for relevant costs (Scotland 2004, p.9). These are costs that result out of reasonable transactions or dealings between the company and a second party. This is irrespective of whether the costs were catered for in the initial budget. The first argument is that, as a sales person, Fergus might have been marketing Ikant. This exists in the view that the company bears social responsibility over his customers and the general society. Marketing and advertisement are factors that have been proven to impact immensely over a companyââ¬â¢s revenues and expansion. This, thus, makes the extra costs that Fergus incurred probable in the companyââ¬â¢s rational planning. Another reason for the extra costs might have been a possible unwillingness by customers to engage in a meaningful interaction with Fergus. This would have necessitated that he uses the meals as a basis for the interaction. In concluding this, if the company incurred expenses, in the period stipulated, then it is bound to pay for the costs. In addition, the company would be held liable for payment if the court regards the nature of relationship between the company and Fergus. Fergus is a supervisor in Ikant and has been appointed temporarily to aid the company in enlarging its business. In this capacity, he performs the functions on behalf of the directors. This is called the law of agency. He is engaged in an employment bond with the company. He is, thus, said to have acted in good intentions for the company. Even, if he had wrong intentions, it would be difficult to prove that he had wrong intent. Furthermore, the work given by the company to Fergus does not am ount to delegation. It is appropriately described as an assignment. The directors did not, therefore, describe Fergusââ¬â¢s role aptly. According to the quantum meruit rule, the company is entitled to pay on the basis that the restaurant has already performed its role (Scottish law commission 2000). Advising Ikant on problem B In our second problem, a complexity arises between the directors and Fergus concerning the Scottish contract law. It is noted that Fergus normally travels to promote Ikantââ¬â¢s products and receive orders. The court can, therefore, easily establish that Fergus has been consistently undertaking this duty for some time. Fergus, consequently, engages the company in a form of contract. Fergus, in this capacity, is deemed able to represent the company in a valid contract. According to the Contract Act of third Parties of 1999, this is recognizable legally (Ashton 2003, p.29). The company law recognizes that companies should still have physical representation despite the arbitrary nature of the board of directors. If the court establishes that Fergus acted in good faith, then the company is bound to the contract. However, according the delegation rule, the directors shall still be responsible for a breach of contract since Fergus is conducting a role that they ought to perform. In addition, company will gain rescission, if only it was stated in the contract. The contract, in this case, must comply with

Transmission media Essay Example for Free
Transmission media Essay 1. What kind of transmission media would you recommend for each different building and department of the medical instrument company and why; I would use Cat 6 and the required appropriate connectors, using full-duplex transmission, for each building . It has a much higher throughput than Cat 5 and is more flexible than Cat 7 and less expensive than Fiber. 2. What type of media would you recommend using to connect the two buildings and why, andà I would recommend Multimode Fiber (MMF) to connect the two buildings because the distance is within the MMF limitation (due to attenuation) of a few miles and is cheaper than Single-mode Fiber (SMF). Also, fiber is capable of very high throughput and is very resistant to noise. 3. What kind of media should the company request from the its ISP for connecting the corporate WAN to the Internet? UTP is fine from the ISP. The company will just need to have the appropriate modems and connectors to ensure compatibility with the companyââ¬â¢s network. If the connection to the ISP is analog we will need to convert it to digital for our network and back to analog when we reach outside the network. I would have the network configured as a MAN with each building having being a LAN. The sales departments desire to conduct video training sessions requires much greater throughput than the access of servrers in another department and the use of fiber will assist in this. The Fulfillment department will be setup with a WLAN (wireless local area network) to facilitate the use of scanners on forklifts interacting with inventory databases.

A look at Noraââ¬â¢s transformation from beginning to end Essay -- Literar
Many human beings, in particular women, are always searching for the especial individual and do anything in order to get what they expect. Love is a crazy feeling in which the heart leads the way and sometimes we can consider those in love under a spell. The brain has no saying and common sense is lost against this so-called ââ¬Å"feeling of love.â⬠I will be discussing the play a ââ¬Å"Dollââ¬â¢s houseâ⬠by Ibsen and in particular the transformation that Nora undergoes throughout the play until she recognizes that she is not in love with Torvald. This play was set in a time were women were dependent on man most of the time and were not able to define themselves. The only duties given to a wife, like Nora, were to be a good House wife, Take care of the children and satisfy Torvald. Hence, the name of the play ââ¬Å" A dollââ¬â¢s houseâ⬠in which Nora is depicted as a doll from beginning to the point in which she finds the real world that she lives in and deci des to run away. Nora Helmer, a beautiful woman that has dedicated the past years to be the perfect house wife and admirable woman to society. Her life has been filled with good clothes, enough to live with and the good reputation that goes along with being married to a prospective bank manager. Noraââ¬â¢s early years belong next to her father and the pampering and dependency began, she was then passed down to her current husband, Torvald. In the play we are introduced to Kristine, an old friend of Noras and a character that allows us to witness the way Nora speaks about her marriage life and it ultimately shows the dependency of Nora to Torvald. Nora greets Kristine and goes to talk all wonders about her family. Kristine announces that she has neither children nor husband and this to Nora is unbelieva... ...her head that she was nothing but a doll, someone who would do as told and a human being without any independence. This has made her realize she is not in love with Torvald and what she used to call home, is not home anymore. She has to get away and make up her own life, what she wants of it and how she wants to be treated. Indeed, Nora has transformed into a woman of choice and one that can make her own decisions in regards to her life. She has become free from Torvald and his ââ¬Å"perfect lifeâ⬠and realized that maybe they were never in love. Nora becomes aware of the possibility that Torvald was never in love with her but with the idea of being in love with her. She never had a saying in their lives and the childrenââ¬â¢s life. She had no meaning to her life and she realizes at the end of the play that she needs to educate herself first and then take care of others.

ââ¬ÅThe Deadline is the Deadlineââ¬Â policy is a good idea Essay
Schools today are now introducing the new policy ââ¬Å"the deadline is the deadlineâ⬠. This essay shall explain why ââ¬Å"the deadline is the deadlineâ⬠a good idea in schools today. It will include the consequences and disadvantages if you donââ¬â¢t follow this policy, with the benefits of following the policy too. This essay shall also include why teachers in our schools today choose to follow ââ¬Å"the deadline is he deadlineâ⬠policy. The benefits off following ââ¬Ëthe deadline is the deadlineâ⬠policy is that when you go up to grade 11 o 12 the teachers will be more strict about this policy, and wouldnââ¬â¢t give you extensions for ââ¬Å"accidentlyâ⬠leaving it at home or ââ¬Å"loosingâ⬠your USB. It will help you later on in life when you get a job. It supports students to take responsibility. And this policy would also help later on in life when youââ¬â¢re in university. The disadvantages and consequences of the policy ââ¬Å" the deadline is the deadlineâ⬠are that if you get so used to not completing or handing assignments or work in or time, in the future when you get jobs it would be hard for you to hand it in on time. And if you donââ¬â¢t do the work, you might as well go looking for another job. Another disadvantage is that, by not handing in assignments it can take your grade down. Teachers today in our schools follow the policy ââ¬Å"the deadline is the deadlineâ⬠because if the teachers didnââ¬â¢t support the policy some students that hadnââ¬â¢t finished or handed it up may use pathetic excuses to get extensions. They also follow the policy as it encourages students to participate in the learning process, it supports students to take responsibility in their learning and it also supports students to develop time management skills. People today agree that ââ¬Å"the deadline is the deadlineâ⬠policy is a good idea, and I agree. It is a brilliant way to help students develop time management skills and to pass school, which means they would get a better chance of getting in to university or to get a good job. Students make up stupid excuses for not handing it in, which is not g oing to help. The deadline is the deadline and if you have trouble with handing it in on time, doing thirty minutes to an hour a night wouldnââ¬â¢t hurt.

The Dimensions Of Social Responsibility Essay - 922 Words
There are four dimensions of social responsibility are economical, legal, ethical, and voluntary including philanthropic (Ferrell, Hirt, Ferrell, 2009, p. 41). The economic dimension is the basis that the firm demands profits and being profitable assures its endurance. A firm is accountable to its shareholders, to its employees and to the customers in the economic sense. It has the responsibility to make profit for the investors that trusted the corporation with their funds and have a reasonable and acceptable return on their investment for them. Furthermore the corporation has the duty to have fair compensation for the employees employed by it. To the customers the responsibility is to provide product and services for a fair price. Thus, meeting the economic responsibility is the foundation of responsibilities and the basis for the subsequent responsibilities. These are responsibilities that are required by the society (Carroll, 1991). Also when thinking about the economical aspect of social responsibilities, there is also another external consideration which is the supplier. The fate of the company can be closely tied to the fate of the supplier (Freeman, 2001), although depending on variables and factors exceptions can be made. The company-supplier relationship a lot of times determine when expansion and growth can happen or vice versa. Therefore the willingness of the supplier to follow companyââ¬â¢s ethical behaviour or resist it can have major impact on the companyShow MoreRelatedSustainability: Ethical and Social Responsibility Dimensions Essay1069 Words à |à 5 PagesMGT 400 Sustainability: Ethical and Social Responsibility Dimensions Faculty: Case Study Henry Siegel Student: Allen Johnson National University December 12, 2012 Table of Contents Introduction 3 Issues Raised 4 Textbook Questions 5 References 6 Introduction When making business decisions that impact the environment, there are often risks and issues that affect an organization.
